Where our History Began
For all parents, the education of a child is of great importance and selecting the right school is a greater task. This is so because the choice parents make influences the child’s potential and chances of a successful life.It is not always true that the quality of a school is related to the size of school fees and quality of its infrastructure.
For us, setting up an educational institution is a way of rendering services to society. It is not to exploit society.
‘Yetonsiaa’ in Kalabari, means, “having a plan is good”. Education is the only gift no one should deny a child.
Yetonsiaa Model Schools are acknowledged as one of the leading schools in the heart of Port Harcourt and enjoys a reputation built on the achievements of the past. Products of Yetonsiaa Model Schools have gone on to excel in other schools and universities. We enjoy regular contact with other major schools in Port Harcourt and Nigeria in a variety of cultural and sporting activities.
Yetonsiaa Model Schools take pride in students’ social, moral, spiritual and emotional development, in addition to our traditional interest in academic proficiency. We provide opportunities for each student to grow as an individual and realize his unique potential.
Yetonsiaa cultivates in our youths a love and understanding of our country and a desire to participate intelligently in solving its problems. Our students socialize within a school climate with mutual respect.
We pride ourselves on a curriculum that both enables our pupils to achieve exceptionally good examination results but, more importantly, we also engage them in the excitement of learning, and prepares them for the wider world. Our pupils grow up to be independent, thoughtful and well-rounded individuals who are confident in their ability to question, analyse and express opinions.
At Yetonsiaa, we believe that making children read and write before their 5th birthday is the foundation and the best way to actualize theiracademic fortunes. Our emphasis is on teaching the 3 Rs- reading, handwriting and arithmetic from the first day in school.
